We're Baaaack!
For our 3rd... Yes... 3rd year on the Playa!!

So.. What are we up to?  We are again mixing Buddhism and Mayhem for Burning Man 2009.  We will again be meeting to chant in the morning, and our dome will be available for chanting all day long.  Check back later for some other exciting activities we are cooking up for this year.

First, we have some urgent news...

We're having a Fun(d) Raiser Party, Saturday May 16th

Black Rock City District in the house!!

Last year, friends from all over the world came to chant with us, learn about this wonderful practice and how to share it with others to enable them to attain unlimited happiness in their own lives, heck..some of you even helped us build the first Lotus Dome!!

We want to give a proper shout out to you beautiful playa peeps and invite you back to visit us again: Black Rock City District meets every day, [Mon-Sat] @11:00am for Gongyo (recitation of the Lotus Sutra) & Daimoku (chanting Nam Myoho Renge Kyo) and "mini"-district meeting to discuss Buddhist concepts.  See you all then!

What is BuddhaCamp?

Buddha Camp @the Lotus Dome is the brainchild of several Seattle-based SGI Buddhist members. It is not  "sponsored" by the SGI, however, the intention is to impart a bit of our experience and understanding of this wonderful Buddhist teaching of NAM MYOHO RENGE KYO to not only visitors, but also our own camp members.

With the platform of Burning Man as a template for creating a temporary community, we can impart our vision for creating a truly humanistic global society based on these principles, while simultaneously having a RIDICULOUS AMOUNT OF FUN!! (After all, let's please not forget that we're talking about BURNING MAN, here!) :)

So, that said, here's what you can expect by camping with us:

-A bunch of SUPER COOL, talented, creative and wacky people (we freakin' ROCK), some of whom will be committed to chanting for a set period of time every morning on the playa.

-NO sermonizing/"bible-beating". That's always a drag, no matter how you slice it. We respect everyone and their beliefs, and it is not our intention to cram ours down anyone's throats, unsolicited or otherwise. If you're curious about what we're doing or why, just ask us.

Anyone interested in camping or communicating with us should please contact us through the link below. Meetings are held in Seattle and our debut year was 2007 - (The Green Man).

Hope to see you there!

Burn, baby...BURN.
